MISSION - THE WHY OF WHAT WE DO

We read to infants of homeless mothers and absent fathers so their brains can get millions of words and develop to full potential; thereby helping reduce the reading gap of ethnically marginalized and under-resourced people. 

Meet the Team

Monica Johnson

Monica Johnson is from a family of teachers. She graduated from the University of Virginia with an English major, Spanish minor. Then she received a Masters Degree in Education from Harvard. She taught elementary and secondary school children in Atlanta, New York City and South Orange, New Jersey. She won a Peabody Award, among others, and created acclaimed  methods for teaching writing skills in culturally innovative ways.

Roger Groves

Former law professor and tutor of law students, author of book and law review articles, tax judge, partner in business law firms, musician and songwriter. 

Nicole Bridgeforth

An employment lawyer and Director for Meta/Facebook that still finds time to read and nurture infants and children of all ages.
